1. It’s cheaper and easier to find your own conveyancer.
Most Real Estate agents have a handful of conveyancers that they prefer to work with. Whilst there is the belief that they refer you to the most expensive person or ones in which they earn the highest commission on, that is not the way it works. Real Estate agents relationships with conveyancers and other networks are built and developed over time, if the conveyancer they recommend does a bad job it reflects badly on them, so always trust that they have your best interest at the forefront of their mind and want the best for you. If you are worried about having to pay extra, read over the quote that the firm offers you. By law, the firm must disclose on the bill if either party is receiving a financial benefit from the referrer. Remember to have faith in your real estate agent.
2. Conveyancers are impossible to get ahold of!
It seems that the people you want and need to speak to are often the ones you are unable to reach. However, many conveyancers are implementing new strategies and tools to ensure that you are kept up to date at all times. Some firms now offer you a login to a portal that means you can stay up to date on your matter without having to sit on hold for hours, saving you time on the phone and all the communication frustration.
3. The conveyancing process is very slow and is drawn out longer than it needs to be.
